Spend the day with the Grainger College of Engineering Undergraduate Admissions & Recruitment team and discover what it means to belong to the University of Illinois' engineering communities.

Learn about the Morrill Engineering Program (MEP), which empowers African American, Hispanic/Latinx, Native American, and other students by fostering academic excellence, leadership, and community. Open to all students seeking its services, MEP provides year-round support through mentoring, professional development, academic resources, and opportunities to build lasting connections.

Throughout the day, you'll:

  • Explore Grainger Engineering majors and academic opportunities.

  • Learn about campus resources designed to support your success: Scholarships, Office Of Financial Aid, Engineering Pathways, and the Counseling Center

  • Connect with student leaders from organizations such as the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), and other engineering student organizations.

  • Hear firsthand from current Illinois engineering students about their experiences inside and outside the classroom.

  • Gain valuable insights into the admissions process and what makes a competitive engineering applicant.

  • Participate in an interactive essay-writing workshop to strengthen your college application.

Whether you're just beginning your college search or preparing to apply, this event is designed to help you envision yourself as a future Illinois engineer while building meaningful connections with the students, staff, and community that make Grainger Engineering exceptional.

In alignment with our mission to foster a supportive environment for all members of our community, this event is open to all prospective students regardless of race, color, or national origin.
