Your application requires a recommendation from someone who can speak to your skills and interests in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. We use an online form for this recommendation, so you do not need to request a letter. The WYSE staff will use the contact information below to send the teacher, tutor, or counselor a link to the Recommendation Form. Be sure to notify this person that they should expect an email from wyse@illinois.edu for this purpose.
Your application is not considered complete until ALL supporting documents (including the Teacher Recommendation Form) have been received.
Provide a list of coursework in math, science, technology, and engineering from the last two years, including grades – official transcripts are not required
Provide a list of non-coursework activities (clubs, sports, community service) that you have participated in during the past 2 years. Also list any relevant awards or leadership opportunities.
Camp tuition rates vary depending on the camp. Please review the camp description for specific information about the associated fees. Thanks to grants and generous sponsors, Trail Blazer scholarships are available to students who qualify for the camp and who demonstrate that they are on a path that few have travelled ahead of them. This scholarship is meant for applicants who meet one or more of the following criteria:
Trail Blazer Essay:* A Trail Blazer is someone who is among the first to do something or go someplace that others in their group have not gone before. They overcome obstacles in their academic careers and in their personal lives to expand their own knowledge and that of others.
